Proceed, unwisely

Serious play. Silly world.

The rules are strict and the matches are fair. Nobody can say the same for the kingdom.

Duel, one on one

Turn-based card battles against a real opponent. An impartial server judges every match, which already puts it ahead of the royal courts.

Build your folly

Collect cards, build decks, and pursue strategies the Royal Council has formally advised against. The Council has been wrong before, often in writing.

A realm run on paperwork

Prophecy by subcommittee, a moat that needs a permit, and a crown that changes hands every Tuesday. The cards are balanced. The kingdom is not.

Eight heroes. Some of them qualified.

Each leads a class of its own and holds opinions about the other seven.

Emberward, a hero wreathed in fire
EmberwardSettles disputes quickly and warmly. Afterward there is no dispute, and usually no building.
Clockwright, an inventor holding a crackling brass sphere
ClockwrightBuilt a machine that solves every problem. The machine is now the problem.
Gravekeep, a hooded skeletal figure with a lantern
GravekeepKeeps the cemetery, and is concerned by how many residents keep leaving it.
Nightveil, a masked assassin on a moonlit rooftop
NightveilNobody saw Nightveil arrive. Three complaints about it have been filed anyway.
Stonewarden, an armored giant with a tower shield
StonewardenBuilt a wall, then built a second wall to protect the first one.
Tempest, a storm mage hurling lightning
TempestTreats the weather as a suggestion. The suggestion is usually lightning.
Tidecaller, a sea mystic holding a driftwood staff
TidecallerSummons the tide twice a day, which the tide was already doing without help.
Verdant, an ancient tree spirit cradling a sapling
VerdantHeals the land, and has since sent the land an invoice.

By order of the Crown

The kingdom is under construction.

Builders are hard at work, against the advice of every relevant authority. Citizens are asked to remain calm and to stay nearby. Further proclamations will be issued once somebody finds the good quill.
